A heartbreaking incident has shocked residents of Bangareddypalli village in Chittoor district, where four members of a family were found dead in an apparent case of suicide. The deceased have been identified as Damodar, the head of the family, his wife Nirmala, son Dilip, a student studying in the 8th class, and daughter Srividya, a 6th-class student. According to preliminary police investigations, Damodar had been under severe mental stress due to his wife’s prolonged illness and the family’s difficult circumstances.
Police officials stated that Damodar allegedly administered poison to his wife and children before ending his own life by hanging himself. The tragic incident came to light after local residents noticed unusual circumstances at the family’s residence and alerted authorities. A suicide note recovered from the scene reportedly stated that no individual was responsible for their deaths. In the note, Damodar also mentioned that the money available in his ATM account should be utilized for the family’s funeral expenses. Police personnel reached the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation, and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further inquiries are underway to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the incident.
