In a significant boost to sports infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh, the Central Government has sanctioned ₹14 crore for the construction of a state-of-the-art multipurpose indoor sports hall at the NTR Sports Complex in Kuppam. The proposed facility will be built on a 60-metre by 40-metre area and is expected to provide modern training and competition facilities for athletes across various indoor sports disciplines. The project aims to encourage sports participation among youth while creating opportunities for hosting district, state, and national-level tournaments.
Sports enthusiasts and local residents have welcomed the announcement, describing it as a major step toward strengthening sports development in the region. Officials stated that the indoor hall will be equipped with modern amenities and infrastructure to support sports such as badminton, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and other indoor events.
