Entomologist – APMSRB

Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Entomologist to study insects and their interactions with plants, animals, humans, and the environment. The ideal candidate will conduct research, identify insect species, analyze pest-related issues, and develop sustainable pest management strategies to support agricultural, environmental, and scientific initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct field and laboratory research on insect behavior, biology, ecology, and population dynamics.
* Identify and classify insect species using scientific methods and diagnostic tools.
* Monitor pest infestations and assess their impact on crops, ecosystems, and public health.
* Develop and recommend integrated pest management (IPM) strategies.
* Collect, analyze, and interpret entomological data and prepare detailed reports.
* Collaborate with agricultural experts, environmental scientists, researchers, and stakeholders.
* Maintain insect collections, specimens, and research records.
* Conduct surveys and field inspections to evaluate insect populations.
* Stay updated on advancements in entomology, pest control technologies, and environmental regulations.
* Provide technical guidance and training to farmers, organizations, and project teams.

Required Qualification:
* Master’s degree/Ph.D in Entomology, Zoology, Agriculture, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of insect taxonomy, ecology, and pest management techniques.
* Experience in field sampling, laboratory analysis, and scientific research.
* Proficiency in data collection, statistical analysis, and report preparation.
* Familiarity with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
