From grand religious festivals attracting lakhs of devotees to traditional harvest celebrations and local cultural fairs, every event reflects the district’s rich heritage and communal harmony.

The Pulse Polio Immunization Programme was successfully conducted across Chittoor District as part of the nationwide National Immunization Day (NID) campaign on 28 June 2026, with follow-up house-to-house visits on 29 and 30 June. The initiative aimed to ensure that every child below five years of age received two drops of the Oral Polio Vaccine (bOPV), helping maintain India’s polio-free status and protecting children against poliomyelitis.

The Continental Dance Festival – 2026 is a prestigious regional and international cultural event that brings together talented performers from across India and abroad. Hosted at the Kanipakam Asthana Kala Mandapam, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, the festival provides a grand platform for artists to showcase their creativity, preserve cultural heritage, and celebrate the universal language of dance. Organized in a hybrid format (Offline & Online), the festival welcomes participants of all age groups and skill levels, making it one of the region’s most inclusive and vibrant cultural gatherings.

The Continental Dance Festival celebrates India’s rich artistic traditions alongside contemporary and international dance styles. The 2nd Sports and Cultural Day – 2026 at Apollo Knowledge City, Chittoor was celebrated with great enthusiasm, bringing together students, faculty members, and staff in a vibrant display of talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The event served as a platform to encourage physical fitness, creativity, leadership, and holistic development while fostering a spirit of unity and healthy competition across the campus.

The cultural segment showcased the artistic talents of students through captivating performances that celebrated India’s rich cultural diversity. The evening was filled with energetic performances that entertained the audience while reflecting creativity, tradition, and innovation. Outstanding performers were honored with medals, trophies, certificates, and special awards for excellence in sports, cultural activities, leadership, and overall championship performance. The recognition inspired students to continue pursuing excellence beyond the classroom. The event strengthened student-faculty bonds while celebrating talent, dedication, and sportsmanship.

Chittoor District celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 with great enthusiasm through a series of district-wide yoga sessions, wellness campaigns, and awareness programs. The celebrations brought together thousands of participants, including students, teachers, government officials, healthcare professionals, police personnel, NCC and NSS volunteers, and members of the public.

Farmers across Chittoor District celebrated Eruvaka Pournami with great enthusiasm on 29 June 2026, marking the traditional beginning of the agricultural sowing season. The festival symbolizes gratitude to Mother Earth and prayers for timely rainfall, abundant harvests, and prosperity. On the occasion, farmers cleaned and decorated their ploughs, tractors, bullocks, and agricultural implements with turmeric, kumkum, flowers, and mango leaves. Special pujas were offered to Bhudevi (Mother Earth) and farming tools before entering the fields. Many villages conducted symbolic first ploughing ceremonies, seeking divine blessings for a successful farming season.

Across Chittoor District, farmers preparing to cultivate paddy, groundnut, millets, maize, pulses, sugarcane, and horticultural crops including mango and tomato participated in the celebrations with optimism for a productive monsoon season. Eruvaka Pournami continues to reflect the deep bond between agriculture, nature, and rural traditions in Chittoor District, preserving centuries-old customs while encouraging modern, sustainable farming practices.

Selesta 2K26, the three-day national-level youth and cultural festival hosted by Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology (SVCET), transformed its campus into a vibrant hub of creativity, innovation, and youthful energy. Held from March 12–14, 2026, the festival brought together thousands of students from engineering colleges and universities across India to celebrate talent, teamwork, and competitive excellence under the theme “Fest of Fun.”

Gangamma Jatara is one of the oldest and most revered folk festivals in Chittoor District. Dedicated to Goddess Gangamma, the guardian deity (Gramadevata) of the region, the festival is celebrated with immense devotion and vibrant cultural traditions. The Jatara symbolizes the victory of good over evil and is believed to protect the community from diseases, misfortunes, and natural calamities. It attracts thousands of devotees from across Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states every year.

Celebrated: Annually during May, traditionally on Tuesday and Wednesday of the second week.
