
The entire district has become a yoga haven. On the occasion of International Yoga Day, 3.2 lakh people performed asanas on Sunday. The Yoga Andhra program was held on more than 9 thousand platforms from 6.30 to 7.45 am. This program was held under the auspices of MPDOs in mandals and commissioners in towns. The district-level program was held at the PVKN College ground in Chittoor. More than a thousand people performed asanas together.
JC Adarsh Rajendran called on everyone to adopt yoga not just as a one-day program but as a healthy lifestyle to be practiced throughout life. He said that the Yoga Andhra training programs conducted in the district for two weeks have created awareness among the people. He congratulated the public representatives, yoga gurus, educational institutions, sports and AYUSH departments who made Yoga Andhra a success. Chittoor MLA Gurajala Jaganmohan suggested that people should devote some time to yoga every day to improve their mental peace, concentration and self-confidence along with their physical health. Puthalapattu MLA Murali Mohan said that the secret to the health of Prime Minister Modi and CM Chandrababu Naidu, who are leading this movement, is also doing yoga. Later, certificates of appreciation were presented to the boys and girls who showed talent in yoga.
