
Collector Venkateswar and Nagari MLA Gali Bhanuprakash advised farmers to cultivate crops according to market needs. They handed over Annadata Sukhibhav-PM Kisan financial assistance checks to farmers on Saturday at the Vadamalapet Mandal Parishad office premises. Speaking on the occasion, they said that in the wake of scientists warning that there is a possibility of rain deficit this year, farmers should be careful in water consumption and cultivate crops as per the instructions of the Agriculture Department.
Farmers should not be limited to traditional crops but should focus on cultivating commercial and horticultural crops according to market needs. He said that farmers especially near urban areas have the opportunity to earn more income by cultivating commercial crops such as vegetables, flower gardens and fruit gardens. He suggested that steps should be taken towards natural farming and said that natural farming methods can be used to achieve better yields with less cost. District Agriculture Officer Prasad Rao said that funds worth about Rs. 111 crore will be deposited in the accounts of 1,65,689 farmers across the district under Annadata Sukhibhavwa-PM Kisan. ADAs Lakshmi Devi, Kavitha, Agriculture Officer Vijayakumar, TDP leaders Muralidhar Reddy, Damu Yadav, Dhananjayulu Naidu and others participated.
