He reviewed the developments that have been going on for a week with the district food safety officials and the municipal corporation medical officers. He inquired about the irregularities in the PP Chavadi mutton market. He questioned why a complaint has not been filed with the police against those responsible so far if the situation is so dire. It is reported that he has ordered a case to be registered with evidence. It is learned that he has expressed his anger at the officials for not conducting continuous inspections. Similarly, it is reported that the collector is planning to take action against the meat activities in the PP Chavadi. It is known that Food Safety Officer N. Maddileti has already given a report to the collector on the market. Similarly, the collector has also asked for a report from the municipal corporation. Accordingly, it seems that an appropriate decision will be taken on the market soon.
“Every Thursday, we bring heads, legs, and other organs of rams and goats from Chennai and Hyderabad to Tirupati. We store them in the freezers in 5 shops in the PP Chavadi market. From here, we supply them to local hotels and mutton shops. With the arrival of Bakrid festival before the inspection by the Municipal Health Officer, a large stock was received on the 28th of last month, and it was not sold in time and remained frozen in the freezer. The same was revealed during the inspection of the officials on the 12th of this month. From now on, we will not trade by bringing them from Chennai and Hyderabad. We request you to forgive us and open the mutton market and provide us with a livelihood,” the traders of the PP Chavadi market submitted a petition to the municipal authorities.
