In a major boost to sports infrastructure and youth development, Human Resource Development and Information Technology Minister Nara Lokesh inaugurated two state-of-the-art sports facilities in the Chandragiri constituency. The Minister formally opened a ₹10.10 crore outdoor stadium at Gollavanigunta, equipped with modern floodlighting systems and multiple sports courts designed to host a variety of sporting events and training activities. The facility is expected to provide local athletes with access to world-class infrastructure and encourage greater participation in sports.
In addition, Lokesh inaugurated a ₹3.17 crore indoor stadium in Chandragiri. The indoor facility has been developed to support year-round sporting activities and provide a dedicated space for training, competitions, and community events. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to strengthening sports infrastructure across the region and creating opportunities for young talent to excel at state and national levels. He noted that such facilities would play a vital role in promoting fitness, nurturing athletic potential, and enhancing the overall sporting culture in the district.
