The minister inquired about the health condition of the victims undergoing treatment at the Rajampet Government Hospital. He suggested that the seriously injured be shifted to higher medical centers for better treatment. The minister assured the affected families that he would support them in every way. The minister spoke to the authorities over the phone on road safety standards and bus-lorry details. He suggested that appropriate measures be taken to prevent such incidents from happening in the future. Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in the accident.

The Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association (ABJDA) has appealed to the government to increase the stipend for junior doctors studying in state government medical teaching hospitals. The leaders have requested that the current stipend given to house surgeons, medical PG students, super specialty students and senior residents be increased by 30 percent. They said that the previous Health Minister had promised to increase the stipend three times in the past, but it has not materialized yet. They have requested that a decision be taken immediately on the increase in stipend in recognition of the services of junior doctors. To this end, last week, the executive members of the ABJDA, led by the state president of the Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors Association, Dr. U. Eshwar Shankar (Guntur Medical College), submitted a petition to the Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav. The minister responded positively to their demands and assured that an appropriate decision would be taken soon.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of APSRTC employees’ unions has announced a series of statewide protest programs beginning June 23, demanding the protection of APSRTC and the resolution of long-pending employee issues. According to a statement issued on Sunday by JAC Convener Palisetty Damodar Rao, RTC employees across Andhra Pradesh will report to duty wearing red badges as a mark of protest. The employees also plan to organize dharnas and demonstrations at bus depots throughout the state to press for the fulfillment of their demands. The JAC stated that the agitation aims to draw the government’s attention to various issues affecting RTC employees and the corporation. Union leaders emphasized the need for immediate action to address employee welfare concerns and safeguard the interests of APSRTC. As part of the protest schedule, a state-level JAC meeting will be held in Vijayawada on June 28. During the meeting, union representatives will review the progress of the agitation and announce future courses of action if their demands remain unresolved. The RTC employees’ unions have called upon all staff members to participate actively in the protest programs and demonstrate solidarity in support of their collective demands.

A heartbreaking incident has shocked residents of Bangareddypalli village in Chittoor district, where four members of a family were found dead in an apparent case of suicide. The deceased have been identified as Damodar, the head of the family, his wife Nirmala, son Dilip, a student studying in the 8th class, and daughter Srividya, a 6th-class student. According to preliminary police investigations, Damodar had been under severe mental stress due to his wife’s prolonged illness and the family’s difficult circumstances. Police officials stated that Damodar allegedly administered poison to his wife and children before ending his own life by hanging himself. The tragic incident came to light after local residents noticed unusual circumstances at the family’s residence and alerted authorities. A suicide note recovered from the scene reportedly stated that no individual was responsible for their deaths. In the note, Damodar also mentioned that the money available in his ATM account should be utilized for the family’s funeral expenses. Police personnel reached the spot, conducted a preliminary investigation, and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and further inquiries are underway to ascertain all circumstances surrounding the incident.

The NEET UG-2026 re-examination conducted for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses ended peacefully in the state on Sunday. The examination was conducted at 185 centers across the state. While 65,790 students from the state applied to write the NEET retest, about 59 thousand of them (about 90 percent) wrote the exam. Almost as many students appeared for the retest conducted now as appeared for the exam conducted last month in the state. The state government is ready to send the OMR sheets to the National Testing Agency. In many places, some students arrived late at the examination centers. Despite pleading with the authorities, the students and their parents turned away in tears and asked for Rs. Five students were sent back to the examination center of Kendriya Vidyalayam in Ongole after arriving late. In Anantapur, two students who arrived 5-10 minutes late were seen pleading with the collector to allow them to write the exam. On the other hand, in Srikakulam, candidates faced difficulties due to rain at 1 pm. While the exam started at 2 pm, candidates were allowed to enter the centers only from 11 am to 1:30 pm.

A major fire accident occurred in the early hours of Monday at the varigaddivami (paddy straw storage area) belonging to farmer Muni Venkatappa in Morampalli village on Rayalapeta Road in Punganur Mandal. The blaze erupted suddenly and quickly spread through the stored fodder and agricultural materials, creating panic among local residents. Upon noticing the fire, villagers immediately alerted the Fire Department. Firefighters rushed to the spot and launched rescue and firefighting operations to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby properties and agricultural fields. After considerable effort, the fire personnel successfully brought the blaze under control. According to preliminary estimates, the farmer suffered a financial loss of nearly ₹40,000 due to the destruction caused by the fire. Fire Department Officer Subbaraju stated that nearly half of the stored stone huts and koyas (fodder stacks) were completely gutted in the incident. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.

Residents of several villages in Chittoor district are living in fear due to the increasing movement of wild elephants from nearby forest areas. Herds of elephants have been frequently entering agricultural fields and human settlements, causing damage to crops, property, and creating panic among villagers. According to local farmers, elephant movement has been reported in villages located near forest fringes, particularly during the night hours. The animals have been raiding fields cultivated with crops such as sugarcane, banana, paddy, and vegetables, resulting in significant losses to farmers. Many villagers have been staying awake throughout the night to protect their crops and homes. Forest Department officials have intensified monitoring activities and are deploying special teams to track elephant movements. Awareness programs are being conducted to educate residents on safety measures and to prevent human-elephant conflicts. Officials have advised villagers to avoid approaching the animals and to immediately inform authorities upon sighting elephant herds. The district administration is also coordinating with the Forest Department to implement long-term measures, including the strengthening of elephant corridors, installation of solar fencing, and the use of early warning systems in vulnerable areas. Compensation procedures for affected farmers are being reviewed to ensure timely support.
