The NEET UG-2026 re-examination conducted for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses ended peacefully in the state on Sunday. The examination was conducted at 185 centers across the state. While 65,790 students from the state applied to write the NEET retest, about 59 thousand of them (about 90 percent) wrote the exam. Almost as many students appeared for the retest conducted now as appeared for the exam conducted last month in the state. The state government is ready to send the OMR sheets to the National Testing Agency.
In many places, some students arrived late at the examination centers. Despite pleading with the authorities, the students and their parents turned away in tears and asked for Rs. Five students were sent back to the examination center of Kendriya Vidyalayam in Ongole after arriving late. In Anantapur, two students who arrived 5-10 minutes late were seen pleading with the collector to allow them to write the exam. On the other hand, in Srikakulam, candidates faced difficulties due to rain at 1 pm. While the exam started at 2 pm, candidates were allowed to enter the centers only from 11 am to 1:30 pm.
